- 3
Download the PDF
The PDF contains one page per image, with no JPEG recompression.
Page size and image quality
Every PNG is embedded unchanged into the PDF; there is no JPEG recompression. Transparency is preserved where the target format allows it.
With original size, the resolution stored in the PNG determines the physical size. If that value is missing, 96 dpi is assumed, so the image may be scaled differently than expected.
Cropping changes the PDF page, not the image file: whatever lies outside the page is not shown.
PNG or PDF?
PNG is a single raster image with a fixed pixel count. A PDF collects several pages in one document that can be printed, sent and archived. For applications, invoices or scans, the PDF is usually the better fit.
Convert PDF pages to PNGFrequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. The PNG files are read in the browser and embedded into the PDF. Nothing is uploaded for conversion.
Are the images recompressed?
No. The PNG data is embedded directly rather than re-encoded as JPEG. The complete original file with all metadata is not copied byte for byte.
Are animated PNGs supported?
No. Animated PNGs (APNG) are rejected with a message, because a PDF page shows a single static image.
Is transparency preserved?
Yes, transparent areas stay transparent. With the “Fit the whole image” placement the page background stays white.
What does original size mean?
The page takes its physical size from the resolution stored in the PNG. If that information is missing, 96 dpi is assumed and the page is calculated from the pixel count.
How many images fit in one PDF?
Up to 40 images at 15 MB each and 100 MB in total. Each image becomes exactly one page.
